What is Upper Cervical?
Upper Cervical refers to the very top of your spinal column, specifically the atlas bone sitting right beneath your skull. Because nearly all the nerves traveling from your brain to the rest of your body must pass through this exact area, even a tiny misalignment here can cause widespread pain and dysfunction. Our specialized Upper Cervical technique is a gentle way to guide the atlas back into its proper place, allowing your entire nervous system to communicate clearly again.
How is it performed?
I use muscle testing to determine exactly which direction your atlas has shifted and exactly where I need to apply a gentle correction. Once we know the precise angle, I use the pad of my finger to apply very light pressure just below your ear while I will gently rotate and bend your head, applying just enough force to help the atlas naturally slip back into its proper position. We always test afterward to ensure it is perfectly aligned.
What are the results?
While some patients feel the bone gently shift, many do not feel anything at all during the actual adjustment. However, the relief afterward is often profound. Because this area controls so much of your nervous system, aligning the atlas can resolve issues throughout your entire body, including leg length discrepancies, back pain, brain fog, etc. In my practice, I have found that a proper upper cervical adjustment often clears up alignment issues elsewhere in the body and helps significantly with overall resilience.
